About Skilled Jobs

I’ve had a lifelong passion for DIY and property development and over the course of 30 years have become skilled in multiple trades.

I relocated from Berkshire with my wife and young Son in 2019 and set about renovating our family home…….this is where the idea of starting my own business was born.

The scale of our project meant we needed to employee the help of local trades in order to complete the work in a reasonable time frame. This as it turned out was easier said than done. Not knowing anyone in the local community meant we couldn’t rely on recommendations, so we turned to the internet. Over the course of a year, I lost count of how many tradesmen failed to show up, didn’t call back or promised a quote and then never delivered. It seemed impossible to find a good, reliable, reasonably priced tradesmen to actually show up! Incredibly frustrated I decided to plough on alone and ultimately renovated the whole property virtually single handedly. 

Once our house renovation was finished (for the most part), I started to reflect on the experience. After 30 years in the motor industry I was ready for a change and keen to be useful in my local community........Skilled Jobs was born.

Skilled Jobs has enabled me to turn something I’ve always loved doing on the side, into a full-time, self-employed enterprise, serving my local community with a reliable, skilled service at a reasonable price.

The ultimate dream is to build a business that my Son can one day take over, continuing in his father’s footsteps, helping the local community finish that 'list of jobs'.
